French press is a simple, manual brewing method that gives you total control over your brew. Really anyone can do it, and it's one of the least expensive brewing methods available. The french press, due it being a full immersion brewing method with a long steeping time, produces a thick and full-bodied cup which many drinkers find more pleasant under milk than other pour-over style filter brewers.

What you’ll need:

  • French Press

  • 20g ground coffee

  • 240ml water at 94°C

  • Tablespoon

  • Cup

  • Kettle

  • Weighing Scale.

Grind size: Coarse

Ratio: 20g for 240g / 1:12

Brew time: 3min

Steps:

  • Add 20g of coarse ground coffee into your French Press.

  • Pour 40ml of hot water over the coffee grounds.

  • Stir the mixture gently with a spoon, making sure all the grounds are fully saturated with water..

  • Wait for about 30 seconds, then fill the French press with the remaining hot water.

  • Put the lid on the French press, but don't press down the plunger yet, and leave for 3 more minutes.

  • Stir a few times until the grinds fall to the bottom.

  • Then very slowly, plunge over 1 minute.

  • Pour the brewed coffee into your cup or mug, and enjoy!

Adjust the amount of coffee and water to your desired strength and taste.
